Coach Blaine Isham

  • 1972 Vermont State Champ

  •  Coaching and officiating since 1976

  • Essex High School Assistant Coach

  • 2006-07 NWCA Region I Assistant Coach of the Year

  • 2007-08 USA Wrestling – Vermont – Person of the year

  • 2009 Inducted into the New England Secondary Schools Principals Hall of Fame

  • 2019 Inducted into the Vermont Wrestler Hall of Fame

  • Coach Isham and oldest Son Christopher became Vermont’s first Father/Son State Champions when Chris won his 1st State Title in 1992

  • I am presently retired and living in Essex with my wife Therese.

Coach Tim Sullivan

Coach Tim Sullivan

  • Grew up in Pennsylvania and started wrestling at age 6

  • Wrestled all over the East Coast during Youth/MS/HS

  • 3x MAWA Eastern National Placer; 1st place (1990) and 3rd place (1989, 1992)

  • 3x Varsity letter at Emmaus HS (District XI, PIAA)

  • Asst. Wrestling Coach Colchester 2002-2010

  • Essex Youth Wrestling Coach 2017-Present

  • Currently lives in Essex with wife Kristen and daughter Addison and son Andrew.

Jack Carney

Coach Jack Carney

  • Born and raised in Essex, Vermont, Jack began wrestling at an early age. He spent an extensive career traveling all over the northeast for tournaments, camps, and clinics.

  • In high school, Jack boasted over 150 career wins. He was a 3x Varsity State Champ, 4x Finalist, 3x Varsity Captain.

  • Following high school, Jack has spent time volunteering with various groups in the Vermont wrestling community, and is a certified SafeSport and USA Wrestling Coach.

  • Jack currently works as a Behavior Interventionist for the South Burlington School District, where he is the Varsity Wrestling Head Coach.

  • Jack believes wrestling is a great way to teach discipline, hard work, and to build confidence

Coach Jon Brown

Coach Jon Brown

  • Northeast Regional Champion Freestyle / Greco Roman

  • Six time Freestyle / Greco Roman Champion in both Vermont and Maine

  • Three time Vermont State Champion (4 time finalist) for Mount Mansfield Union High School

  • 2003 N.E. Runner up

  • 2004 Asic High School All-American

  • 2004 Vermont Dave Schultz Award Winner

  • 2006 NJCAA Regional Qualifier for Neosho County Community College (Kansas)

  • 2006 NJCAA Academic All-American

  • 2007-2008 Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Division I

  • Volunteer Assistant Coach Mount Mansfield Union High School 2009 - Current

  • Co-Head Coach  of MMU Youth Wrestling Program 2018 - Current

  • Lead Educator of the Bridge Program at the New School of Montpelier

  • Lives in Richmond with wife Emily, son Gavin, daughter Everly and two year Pitbull Reba.

  • Hobbies: weight lifting, reading, listening to podcasts, swimming and fishing.

Coach Isaac Boiney

  • Started wrestling age 9, under Uncle, Coach Harley Brown

  • Former varsity wrestler at Mount Mansfield Union High School 1998-2002. Former all state wrestler

  • Competed in tournaments at the New England and Regional level in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco Roman

  • Former amateur MMA figher and asst. trainer under Glenn Brown and Nate Kittredge for The Green Mountain Boys Fight Team 2005-2007

  • 2006 Vermont Open Grappling Champion, No-Gi, 155lbs

  • Volunteer Asst. Coach for Mount Mansfield Youth, JV, and Varsity Wrestling 2021-Current

  • Owner/Installer at Vermont Flooring and Tile Installation LLC 2022-Current

  • Proud Father of 2, Aleeah (17) JV All State Wrestler, Caelum (10) 2X VT Youth State Champ

Harris Strokoff

Coach Harris Strokoff

  • Harris grew up in central Pennsylvania and wrestled for East Pennsboro High School.

  • Harris then went on to NCAA Division III Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, and wasa 3-year starter for the CWRU Spartans .

  • Harris believes that wrestling teaches self reliance, humility, and perseverance.
